SRINAGAR (KIMS) — In view of the extreme hot weather conditions, the Government of Jammu and Kashmir has announced a summer vacation for schools in the Kashmir Division and the Winter Zone of the Jammu Division.
According to a communique, all schools in the Kashmir Division shall observe a 10-day summer vacation from July 8. “All the Government and Private Recognized Schools up to the higher secondary level functioning in the Kashmir Division shall observe summer vacation from July 8, 2024, to July 17, 2024,” reads the communique issued by the Directorate of School Education, Kashmir (DSEK).
In a similar communique, the Directorate of School Education, Jammu (DSEJ) announced a 10-day summer vacation for Winter Zone schools of the Jammu Division. “It is hereby ordered that all the Government and recognized Private Schools falling in the Winter Zone of the Jammu Division shall observe summer vacation from July 8, 2024, to July 17, 2024,” reads the communique.
The decision has been taken in view of the extreme hot weather conditions in the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir.
Earlier, the Government had announced a summer vacation for schools in the Summer Zone of the Jammu Division from June 1, 2024, to July 16, 2024 in view of the extreme heat conditions in the region. — (KIMS)
