Kashmiri pandit shot dead, another injured in Shopian

SHOPIAN — A Kashmiri pandit was shot dead while as his brother suffered injuries after militants fired upon them at Chotipora village in Shopian district of South Kashmir on Tuesday.

Reports said the duo were fired upon and injured by militants in an apple orchard at Chotipora village in the district.

The duo were taken to District Hospital Shopian for treatment, however one person identified as Sunil Kumar succumbed to his injuries while as his brother Pintu Kumar is undergoing treatment and his condition is said to be stable.

Meanwhile, government forces have cordoned off entire area to nab the attackers. — (KIMS)
