LUCKNOW — In a heartwarming gesture, a group of lawyers in Lucknow granted bail to the Kashmiri vendors day after being detained by the Lucknow Police
The vendors had been challaned under section 151 CrPc for selling items on the VIP stretch between 1090 and Samta Mulak Crossing.
Anas Ahmad, a lawyer from Tanveer Law Chambers stated that the legal team successfully bailed out the seven vendors, who were challaned under sections 151, 117, and 116 of CrPc and were held at Gomti Nagar police station.
The lawyers’ intervention came after the vendors were detained by the Lucknow Police and Lucknow Municipal Corporation (LMC) during an anti-encroachment drive.
A bail bond of Rs 50,000 was given, along with an agreement that the Kashmiri vendors wouldn’t sell items at the specified location.

This followed their apprehension during an anti-encroachment drive by the Lucknow Municipal Corporation (LMC) near the 1090 Crossing on Sunday.
These vendors, mostly youths from Kashmir, come to Lucknow in winters to sell dry fruits and shawls along roadsides. — (IANS)
