Lashkar hybrid militant arrested in Ladoo Awantipora, says police

SRINAGAR — Police on Tuesday claimed to have arrested a hybrid militant of Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) militant outfit at Ladoo area of Awantipora town in Pulwama district and recovered incriminating materials including a Grenade from his possession.

According to police press release, police along with security forces during naka checking at Ladoo Awantipora arrested a hybrid militant linked with proscribed militant outfit LeT.

The press release stated that incriminating materials including a Grenade was recovered from his possession.

He has been identified as Abid Ahmad Sheikh, son of Abdul Aziz Sheikh, resident of Satpokharen.

During preliminary investigation, it came to fore that the arrested hybrid militant was in close touch with LeT Commanders and was involved in transportation of arms and ammunition, the press release stated.

Accordingly, a case vide FIR No. 69/2022 under relevant sections of law has been registered in Police Station Khrew and further investigation has been taken up, reads the press release. — (KIMS)
