Lashkar militant associate arrested with arms, ammo in Baramulla: Police

SRINAGAR (KIMS) — An associate of Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) militant outfit has been arrested in Kreeri area of Baramulla district in North Kashmir, Jammu and Kashmir Police said on Wednesday. 

Jammu and Kashmir Police said, “A militant associate identified as Imran Ahmad Ganie, son of Abdul Qayoom Ganie, a resident of Nowpora Wagoora Kreeri was arrested by joint team of forces including J&K Police and Indian Army’s 52 RR during a Naka checking at Shrakwara Kreeri near Bus Stand.”

The Naka was established by the joint team of forces including J&K Police and Indian Army’s 52 RR on a specific input of militant movement in Kreeri area.

“During his checking, a Chinese Pistol, Pistol Magazine, 9 Pistol Rounds were recovered from his possession,” Jammu and Kashmir Police said.

Meanwhile, Jammu and Kashmir Police said has registered a Case FIR No. 127/2023 under Section 7/25 of Indian Arms Act 13, 20, 23, 38 of Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act (UAPA) at Police Station Kreeri in this regard and further investigation has been taken up. — (KIMS)
