SRINAGAR (KIMS) — The Meteorological Department on Friday forecast mainly clear weather in Jammu and Kashmir for next 24 hours.
The weather was partly cloudy in the Union Territory during the last 24 hours. Some places also received rainfall during this period.
Today, the weather will remain mainly clear in Jammu and Kashmir. There is also possibility of brief spell of rain and thunderstorm towards late afternoon or evening, an official of the Meteorological Department said.
He said, From May 20-23, Mainly dry weather is expected in Jammu and Kashmir. However, a brief spell of rain and thunderstorm at few places towards late afternoon or evening can’t be ruled out, although chances are less.
He said, From May 24-26, Widespread rain and snowfall over higher reaches is very likely in Jammu and Kashmir. Some places may receive heavy rain, he said.
Meanwhile, The summer capital of Jammu and Kashmir, Srinagar recorded 9.4°C, Qazigund 7.0°C, Anantnag 6.8°C, Kupwara 6.7°C, Kokernag 7.2°C, Gulmarg 3.0°C and Pahalgam 2.7°C as the minimum temperature in Kashmir region on Friday.
The winter capital Jammu recorded 21.0°C, Katra 18.2°C, Batote 12.2°C, Bhaderwah 8.4°C, Banihal 10.1°C, Udhampur 15.6°C and Patnitop 12.0°C as the minimum temperature in Jammu region.
In Ladakh region, Leh recorded 2.6°C and Kargil 6.0°C as the minimum temperature. — (KIMS)
