Mainly clear weather; rain, thunderstorm at scattered places of J&K: MeT

SRINAGAR (KIMS) — The Meteorological Department on Sunday forecast mainly clear weather and brief spell of rain and thunderstorm at scattered places of Jammu and Kashmir towards the late afternoon or evening.

The weather was cloudy in the Union Territory during the last 24 hours.

Today, the weather is likely to ramain mainly clear in Jammu and Kashmir. However, a brief spell of rain and thunderstorm towards late afternoon or evening can’t be ruled out, an official of the Meteorological Department said.

He said, From May 15-16, Partly cloudy weather, rain and thunderstorm is expected at isolated places in Jammu and Kashmir.

He said, From May 17-20, Rain and thunderstorm at isolated to scattered places is expected in Jammu and Kashmir.

Meanwhile, The summer capital of Jammu and Kashmir, Srinagar recorded 10.6°C, Qazigund 10.0°C, Anantnag 9.8°C Kupwara 7.4°C, Gulmarg 3.0°C, Pahalgam 5.6°C and Kokernag 9.3°C as the minimum temperature in Kashmir region on Sunday.

The winter capital Jammu recorded 22.0°C, Katra 19.8°C, Batote 13.0°C, Bhaderwah 11.4°C, Banihal 10.6°C, Udhampur 21.0°C and Patnitop 12.8°C as the minimum temperature in Jammu region.

In Ladakh region, Leh recorded 1.4°C and Kargil 4.2°C as the minimum temperature. — (KIMS)
