Mainly dry weather in Jammu and Kashmir till May 22: MeT

SRINAGAR (KIMS) — The Meteorological Department on Saturday forecast mainly dry weather in Jammu and Kashmir till May 22.

The weather was mainly clear in the Union Territory during the last 24 hours.

Today, the weather will remain mainly clear in Jammu and Kashmir. However, a brief spell of rain and thunderstorm at few places towards late afternoon or evening can’t be ruled out, an official of the Meteorological Department said. Similar weather conditions will remain in Jammu and Kashmir till May 22, he said.

Widespread light to moderate rain, thunder and lightning with possibility of hailstorm and gusty winds is expected at few places in Jammu and Kashmir from May 23-25, he said.

Meanwhile, The summer capital of Jammu and Kashmir, Srinagar recorded 9.7°C, Qazigund 7.6°C, Anantnag N/A, Kupwara and Kokernag each 8.3°C, Gulmarg 4.8°C and Pahalgam 3.6°C as the minimum temperature in Kashmir region on Saturday.

The winter capital Jammu recorded 22.6°C, Katra 18.6°C, Batote 13.0°C, Bhaderwah 9.6°C, Banihal 9.3°C, Udhampur N/A and Patnitop N/A as the minimum temperature in Jammu region.

In Ladakh region, Leh recorded 1.6°C and Kargil 6.2°C as the minimum temperature. — (KIMS)
