SRINAGAR — Police on Friday said that they arrested a man for raping a minor girl in Srinagar.
According to Srinagar police, the accused Aijaz Ahmad Sheikh, son of Ghulam Nabi Sheikh, a resident of Zewan Khunmoh was arrested for raping a minor girl of Maloora (name withheld), four days ago.
Police said that the accused was absconding after the crime.
A case under FIR No 24/2022 under relevant sections of IPC and POSCO act was already registered in this regard.
Meanwhile, Srinagar police in a tweet said, “One accused namely Aijaz Ahmad sheikh S/o Ghulam Nabi sheikh R/o Zewan, Khunmoh arrested for raping a minor girl of Maloora (name withheld), 4 days ago. He was absconding after the crime.”
