MeT forecast widespread rain, snow in J&K during next 24 hours

SRINAGAR — The Meteorological Department office on Wednesday forecast widespread light to moderate rain and snow during the next 24 hours in Jammu and Kashmir.

The Union Territory witnessed cloudy weather with light rain and snow during the last 24 hours.

“Widespread light to moderate rain/snow is likely to occur in J&K during the next 24 hours,” IANS quoted an official of the Meteorological Department (MeT) as having said.

He said Srinagar recorded 3.5 degrees Celsius as minimum temperature while Pahalgam and Gulmarg recorded minus 0.3 degrees Celsius and minus 3.0 degrees Celsius as the minimum temperature.

In Jammu region he said, Jammu recorded 8.0 degrees Celsius, Katra 10.1 degrees Celsius, Batote and Bhaderwah 6.6 degrees Celsius and Banihal 4.9 degrees Celsius as the minimum temperature.

In Ladakh region he said, Kargil recorded minus 7.4 degrees Celsius and Leh recorded minus 7.2 degrees Celsius as the minimum temperature.
