MeT forecasts dry weather in J&K till May 25

SRINAGAR (KIMS) — The weather is expected to remain generally dry in the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir until May 25, the Meteorological Department (MeT) said on Tuesday.

An official of the Meteorological Department said, “Expect generally dry weather conditions across Jammu and Kashmir from May 14-17. Similar weather conditions will prevail from May 20-25.”

He said, “Anticipate generally cloudy weather with light rain or thunderstorms at isolated to scattered places, primarily in the afternoon, for brief periods from May 18-19.”

Meanwhile, the Summer capital of Jammu and Kashmir, Srinagar recorded 9.5°C, Qazigund 7.0°C, Kupwara 6.5°C, Kokernag 6.6°C, Gulmarg 3.8°C, and Pahalgam 2.6°C as the Minimum temperature in Kashmir region on Tuesday.

The Winter capital, Jammu and Katra each recorded 18.8°C, Batote 13.0°C, Banihal 11.6°C, and Bhaderwah 9.6°C as the Minimum temperature in Jammu region.

In Ladakh region, Leh recorded 1.2°C and Kargil 4.6°C as the Minimum temperature. — (KIMS)
