MeT forecasts light rain, snow at scattered places in Kashmir

SRINAGAR — The Meteorological Department on Friday forecast generally dry in Jammu division and light rain and snow at scattered places in Kashmir division during the next 24 hours.

The weather remained dry in the Union Territory yesterday.

An official of the Meteorological Department said, generally dry weather in Jammu division with light rain/snow at scattered places in the Valley is likely during next 24 hours.

He said, Srinagar recorded minus 0.6 degrees Celsius, Pahalgam minus 1.5 degrees Celsius and Gulmarg minus 7.0 degrees Celsius as the minimum temperature.

In Jammu region he said, Jammu recorded 7.2 degrees Celsius, Katra 7.8 degrees Celsius, Batote 4.2 degrees Celsius and Banihal 2.0 degrees Celsius while Bhaderwah recorded minus 1.8 degrees Celsius as the minimum temperature.

In Ladakh region he said, Kargil recorded minus 15.1 degrees Celsius and Leh recorded minus 11.0 degrees Celsius as the minimum temperature.

Kashmir is currently under 20-day-long period of ‘Chilai Khurd’. It will be followed by 10-day-long ‘Chillai Bache’. — (KIMS)
