MeT forecasts rain, snow in J&K from Feb 27

SRINAGAR (KIMS) — The Meteorological Department (MeT) on Thursday forecast light to moderate rain and snowfall in Jammu and Kashmir from February 27.

An official of the Meteorological Department (MeT) said, “Dry weather conditions are expected to prevail in the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir till Monday (February 26) evening.”

He said, “There is possibility of light to moderate rain and snowfall at scattered to fairly widespread places of Jammu and Kashmir from February 27-28 while light rain and snowfall is expected at isolated places of the Union Territory on February 29.”

He said, “There is possibility of light to moderate rain and snowfall at many places of Jammu and Kashmir from March 1-3.”

Meanwhile, the Summer Capital of Jammu and Kashmir, Srinagar recorded minus 1.0°C, Qazigund minus 4.4°C, Kupwara minus 3.1°C, Gulmarg minus 10.4°C, Pahalgam minus 8.6°C and Kokernag minus 5.4°C as the Minimum temperature in Kashmir region on Thursday.

The Winter Capital, Jammu recorded 9.2°C, Katra 4.7°C, Bhaderwah and Batote each minus 1.0°C and Banihal minus 3.2°C as the Minimum temperature in Jammu region.

In Ladakh region, Leh recorded minus 13.9°C and Kargil minus 12.5°C as the Minimum temperature. — (KIMS)
