Militant associate arrested along with arms, ammunition in Shopian: Police

SRINAGAR (KIMS) — Jammu and Kashmir Police on Sunday claimed to have arrested a militant associate in Shopian district of South Kashmir.

The associate, who is affiliated with Ansar Gazwat-ul-Hind (AGuH) militant outfit was arrested by a joint team of J&K Police, 44 RR and 14 BN CRPF at Habdipora crossing area of the district during a naka.

The arrested associate has been identified as Farman Khursheed Wani, son of Khursheed Ahmad Wani, a resident of Gagren Shopian

Incriminating material, arms and ammunition including one Pistol and two Pistol Magazines 10 Rounds of 9mm Caliber and a Mobile Phone were recovered from his possession.

A Case FIR No. 194/2023 under Section 7/25 of Indian Arms Act and 18, 23, 39 of Unlawful Activities Prevention Act has been registered at Police Station Shopian in this regard and further investigation has been taken up. — (KIMS)
