Militant hideout busted in Ramban; arms, ammo recovered: Police

RAMBAN (KIMS) — Jammu and Kashmir Police on Monday claimed to have busted a militant hideout in forest area of Khari tehsil in Ramban district.

The busting of hideout led to the recovery of arms and ammunition.

Police in a statement said, The militant hideout was busted on specific information about its presence in the far-flung hilly and forested area of Burzalla in Khari tehsil of Ramban district.

The statement said, An Under Barrel Grenade launcher (UBGL), two rifle grenades, a wireless set with an antenna, two IEDs with wire, a detonator, 17 rounds of AK-47 rifle, seven rounds of 9 mm pistol, one bottle containing some liquid, a ‘Khakhi’ jacket and a pair of black leather shoes were recovered from the hideout.

Meanwhile, Police has registered a case under relevant sections of law at Police Station Banihal in this regard and further investigation is on. — (KIMS)
