JAMMU (KIMS) — A militant has been killed in an encounter in Rajouri district of Jammu region on Friday.
The encounter broke out between government forces and militants at Behrote Budhal area of the district on Friday afternoon.
Earlier, a joint team of government forces including Indian Army, J&K Police and CRPF had launched Cordon-and-Search-Operation (CASO) at Behrote Budhal area of the district following the inputs about presence of militants in the area.
As the joint team of forces approached the suspected spot, militants fired upon them which was retaliated, triggering an encounter.
One militant, whose identification and affiliation was yet to be ascertained was killed in the encounter.
Arms and ammunition including One AK-47 Rifle, Three Magazines, Three Grenades and a Pouch were recovered from the site of encounter. — (KIMS)
