Militants escape from encounter site in Shopian

SHOPIAN — Militants managed to have escaped from encounter site at Reban village in Shopian district of South Kashmir on Tuesday.

The encounter had broke out between government forces and militants at Reban village of the district on Monday late night. However their was complete lull after the initial exchange of fire.

The militants managed to have escaped from the site taking advantage of the darkness.

Earlier a joint team of government forces including Indian Army, J&K Police and CRPF had launched Cordon-and-Search-Operation (CASO) at Reban village in Shopian district following the inputs about presence of militants in the area.

As the joint team of forces approached the suspected spot, militants fired upon them which was retaliated, triggering an encounter. — (KIMS)
