NIA raids underway at multiple locations in Kashmir

SRINAGAR — National Investigation Agency (NIA) is carrying out raids at multiple locations in Kashmir Valley in connection with recovery of 15 pistols at Chanapora here in May this year, officials said on Wednesday.

Official sources told KDC that NIA sleuths with the assistance of police and CRPF are carrying out raids in summer capital Srinagar and south Kashmir’s Pulwama district.

In Srinagar, the probing agency raided the residence of Amir Mushtaq Ganie son of Mushtaq Ahmad resident of Saimoh Tral at present Khan Colony Chanapora, Ajlan Altaf Bhat Son of Mohammad Altaf Bhat resident of Butpora Chanpora and Adnan Ahsan-ul-Huq Son of Ahsan-ul-Huq of Chanpora.

If Sources are to be believed the sleuths of NIA seized one T-shirt, one carpet (Qaleen) and one album copy pasted of militant photos from the residences of Amir and Ajlan.

In Pulwama, the raid was carried out in the residential house of Sheeraz Ahmad Mir Son of Feroz Ahmad Mir R/o Parigam, Bashir Ahmad Bhat Son of Mohammad Ahsan R/o Bandzoo, Rameela daughter of Nazir Ahmad Bhat R/o Malangpora, and Tariq Ahmad Dar Son of Ghulam Mohi-u-Din R/o Drubgam Rajpora. Few other residential houses are being searched by the sleuths of the central probing NIA.

An official confirmed to KDC and said raids are pertaining to recovery of 15 pistols at Chanapora Srinagar on May 23 and Srinagar police had claimed that militants were planning to carry out hit and run cases using Pistols. Two TRF militants were claimed to have been arrested on the day by the Srinagar police. The further details regarding recovery of ‘incrementing material’ will be shared later, he said. — (KDC)
