‘Not allowed to visit slain KP’s family, put under house arrest’, says Mehbooba Mufti

SRINAGAR — Former Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister and Peoples Democratic Party chief Mehbooba Mufti on Friday said that she has been placed under house arrest in Srinagar as she wanted to visit the slain Kashmiri Pandit’s family for condolences.

“Wanted to visit Budgam to express my solidarity with Kashmiri pandits protesting against GOIs failure to protect them. Have been put under house arrest as the fact that Kashmiri muslims & pandits empathise with each other’s pain doesn’t fit into their vicious communal narrative,” Mehbooba Mufti said in a Tweet.

Earlier on Thursday, Mehbooba while condemning the Bhat’s killing in Budgam said, “Another life ended and another family devastated. My heart goes out to the bereaved family in this hour of grief. It also belies the false claims of normalcy in Kashmir.”
