Pahalgam shivers at minus 9.4°C; dry, cold weather to continue in J&K

SRINAGAR — The Meteorological Department office on Wednesday forecast dry and cold weather in Jammu and Kashmir as famous tourist destination Pahalgam records another coldest night at minus 9.4 degrees Celsius.

“Weather is likely to remain cold and dry with clear sky in J&K during the next 24 hours,” IANS quoted an official of the MeT department as having said.

He said, Srinagar recorded minus 5.2 degrees Celsius as the minimum temperature while famous tourist destinations Pahalgam and Gulmarg recorded another coldest night at minus 9.4 degrees Celsius and minus 8.4 degrees Celsius.

In Jammu region he said, Jammu recorded 4.5 degrees Celsius, Katra 4.9 degrees Celsius, Batote 2.0 degrees Celsius and Banihal 2.4 degrees Celsius while Bhaderwah recorded minus 1.2 degrees Celsius as the minimum temperature.

In Ladakh region he said, Kargil recorded minus 18.7 degrees Celsius and Leh recorded minus 15.4 degrees Celsius as the minimum temperature.
