NEW DELHI — Pakistan has handed over a BSF jawan, Purnam Kumar Shaw, who was in their custody since April 23, through the joint check post at Attari in Amritsar.
Shaw was handed over to Indian authorities at 10:30 am today (May 14) following established protocols.
“Today BSF Jawan Purnam Kumar Shaw, who had been in the custody of Pakistan Rangers since 23 April 2025, was handed over to India at about 1030 hours through the Joint Check Post Attari, Amritsar. The handover was conducted peacefully and in accordance with established protocols,” BSF said in a press statement.
Shaw was detained by Pakistan Rangers on April 23 after he accidentally crossed over to Pakistan in the Ferozepur sector.
