PDP leader, Waheed-Ur-Rehman Para’s father passes away

SRINAGAR (KIMS) — Ghulam Ahmad Para, father of the Youth Wing President of People’s Democratic Party (PDP), Waheed-Ur-Rehman passed away after battling cancer for over a year.

He passed away on Wednesday late night at his residence in Naira village of Pulwama district in South Kashmir.

The 62-year-old Para, a model apple grower in his region was a staunch Congressman, he leaves behind three sons and a daughter.

As the news about demise of Waheed’s father came out, the people in locality in large number visited his home to offer condolences to the bereaved family.

The People’s Democratic Party (PDP) also expressed grief and sorrow on the demise of Haji Gh Ahmed Para. “Our thoughts and prayers are with the bereaved family in this hour of grief. May Almighty Allah grant the departed soul highest place in Jannah. Ameen,” the party wrote in a post on X.

The Jammu and Kashmir National Conference President Farooq Abdullah, Vice-President Omar Abdullah and CPI (M) leader Mohammad Yousuf Tarigami also extended condolences to Waheed Para over his father’s demise.

Besides, other social and political activists also expressed grief and sorrow on the demise of Waheed’s father.

On Friday, the party’s President Mehbooba Mufti along with party leaders from Kashmir region visited the residence of Waheed-Ur-Rehman Para to offer condolences on his father’s death.

Mehbooba expressed deep sympathy and solidarity with the Parra family. “My thoughts and prayers are with the bereaved family in this hour of grief. May Almighty Allah grant the departed soul the highest place in Jannah,” Mufti said at the condolence meet.

She said that she stands in solidarity with Waheed in this hour of mourning and unimaginable grief, praying to Almighty Allah to give them the strength to bear this inconsolable loss. — (KIMS)
