PDP MLA’s resolution seeking one-time exemption of power dues admitted in J&K Assembly

SRINAGAR (KIMS) — The Jammu and Kashmir Legislative Assembly Secretariat has admitted a resolution moved by Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) MLA Mir Mohammad Fayaz, representing the Kupwara constituency, seeking a “one-time exemption of all outstanding dues on account of electric tariff to domestic consumers.”

According to an official communiqué issued by the Assembly Secretariat, the resolution has been admitted under Rule 179 read with Rule 28 of the Rules of Procedure and Conduct of Business in the Jammu and Kashmir Legislative Assembly.

The Hon’ble Speaker, Mr. Rahim Rather, has approved the resolution for further process.

The communiqué stated that the balloting process for Private Members’ Resolutions will be conducted on Wednesday, October 22, 2025, at 4:00 PM in the Office Chambers of the Secretary Assembly.

The upcoming session of the Jammu and Kashmir Legislative Assembly is scheduled to begin on October 23, 2025, at 10:00 AM. — (KIMS)
