JAMMU (KIMS) — PDP leader Aga Syed Muntazir Mehdi and BJP’s Devyani Rana on Friday took oath as Members of the Legislative Assembly from Budgam and Nagrota constituencies.
The oath-taking ceremony was held at the Assembly Complex in Jammu, where the Speaker of the Jammu and Kashmir Legislative Assembly, Abdul Rahim Rather, administered the oath to both newly-elected legislators.
Mehdi and Rana were elected in the recently held bypolls in Jammu and Kashmir.
Mehdi won the Budgam seat, which had fallen vacant after the Chief Minister chose to retain Ganderbal following victories in both constituencies in the 2024 Assembly elections.
Devyani Rana won the Nagrota seat, which was earlier secured by her father, Devender Singh Rana, in the 2024 Assembly elections. The seat fell vacant after his death on October 31 last year, days after winning the seat. — (KIMS)
