SRINAGAR (KIMS) — Jammu and Kashmir Police on Saturday said they have attached immovable properties worth approximately ₹3.5 crore belonging to two alleged drug peddlers under the provisions of the NDPS Act as part of the ongoing Nasha Mukt Jammu and Kashmir Abhiyan.
According to a police statement, in the first action, Police Station Nigeen attached an immovable property worth around ₹1.30 crore under Section 68(F)(1) of the NDPS Act in connection with FIR No. 30/2021 under Section 8/21 of the NDPS Act.
The attached property comprises a double-storeyed residential house along with land situated at Habbak Crossing, Hazratbal, belonging to Rahil Manzoor Malla, son of Manzoor Ahmad Malla, resident of Habbak Crossing Hazratbal, police said.
In another action, Police Station Soura attached a residential house worth approximately ₹2.20 crore belonging to Adil Rashid Gudoo, son of Abdul Rashid Gudoo, resident of Keel Khan Gali (Haider Colony), Upper Soura.
Police said the accused is involved in illicit trafficking of narcotic drugs and the property was attached under Section 68-F of the NDPS Act.
During investigation, both properties were identified as illegally acquired assets derived from proceeds generated through drug trafficking activities, the statement said.
Accordingly, the properties have been formally attached under the provisions of the NDPS Act. Police said the attachment orders prohibit the owners from selling, transferring, leasing, alienating, altering, disposing of, or creating any third-party interest in the properties pending further legal proceedings.
Police said the action forms part of its continued efforts to dismantle the financial infrastructure of narcotics networks operating in the city. — (KIMS)
