SRINAGAR (KIMS) — The Jammu and Kashmir Police on Wednesday attached immovable property of a self-styled militant commander in Chotipora village of Shopian district in South Kashmir.
“While continuing its crackdown on militant ecosystem, police in Shopian under the supervision of SSP Shopian Ms Tanushree-IPS in collaboration with revenue authorities attached property including 01 kanal and 10 marlas of land under survey No. 1165 and a partial residential house of a self-styled militant commander Abid Ramzan Sheikh @ Saifullah @ Khalid, son of Mohammad Ramzan Sheikh, a resident of Chotipora Shopian,” the Jammu and Kashmir Police said in a statement.
“The said active militant is involved in a number of militant related cases in district Shopian as well as neighbouring districts. It is pertinent to mention here that the said militant is highly involved in instigating/motivating gullible and budding youth to join the ranks of militants,” the statement said.
“This action became inevitable in view of his continuous involvement in militancy and spoiling the career of poor, innocent & gullible youth of the area,” the statement added.
The statement further said, “Police is committed to take such steps in future also against such anti-national and subversive elements to eradicate the roots of militancy and maintain peace, security and tranquillity in the valley.” — (KIMS)
