Police attaches property of militant associate under UAPA in Shopian

SHOPIAN (KIMS) — Jammu and Kashmir Police attached a residential property of a militant associate in Shopian district of South Kashmir on Monday under the UAPA Act.

Police attached double-storied residential property registered under Khasra No. 115 in Wandina village, valuing at Rs. 24,09221/- of Ilyas Ahmad Dar, son of Mohd Shafi Dar of Wandina Melhoura, Shopian.

“The attachment was carried out under Section 25 of the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act, 1967 (UAPA) and has been officially recorded in the revenue records, and the necessary legal notices prohibiting its sale or transfer have been duly issued under the provisions of the UAPA,” police said in a statement.

“This action is linked to Case FIR No. 94/2024 of Police Station Zainapora and was executed in the presence of a duly constituted police team and the Executive Magistrate, ensuring full compliance with legal procedures,” the statement said.

“The attachment marks a significant milestone in the ongoing crackdown on unlawful and subversive activities in the region. It underscores the firm commitment of Shopian Police to neutralizing threats to national security and maintaining peace and order,” the statement added. — (KIMS)
