Police attaches property of notorious drug peddler worth Rs 30 Lacs in Awantipora

SRINAGAR (KIMS) — Jammu and Kashmir Police attached a residential property valuing approximately Rs 30 Lacs of a notorious drug peddler in Awantipora area of Pulwama district in South Kashmir on Tuesday.

Jammu and Kashmir Police attached a single-story concrete residential house valuing approximately RS 30 Lacs as per market value under section 68-F of NDPS Act 1985 of Manzoor Ahmad Bhat, Son of Abdul Ahad Bhat of Larkipora Padgampora Awantipora.

The said drug peddler is involved in Case FIR No’s: 1) 212/2020 U/S 8/20 of NDPS Act of Police Station Awantipora.

“The property was identified as illegally acquired property during the course of investigation/enquiry conducted by SHO of Police Station Awantipora, Inspector khalid Fayaz under the supervision of SDPO Awantipora. The property was prima facie acquired from illicit trafficking in narcotic drug and psychotropic substances by the owner,” the Jammu and Kashmir Police said in a statement.

“This operation reaffirms the commitment of Awantipora Police to combat the drug menace,” the statement said.

Meanwhile, locals have hailed the initiative of Awantipora Police with regard to the attachment of immoveable property which has been raised/used from illicit trafficking of narcotics by the drug peddlers in the Police District Awantipora. — (KIMS)
