SRINAGAR (KIMS) — Police on Thursday carried out coordinated searches at multiple locations in Sopore town of Baramulla district in north Kashmir linked to members of the banned organisation Tehreek-e-Hurriyat as part of the investigation into FIR No. 10/2024 registered under Sections 10 and 13 of the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act.
The searches were conducted at the residential houses of Zaffar Islam @ Yadullah Peer, son of Abdul Rasheed Peer of Dangerpora; Lateef Ahmad Kaloo, son of Ghulam Nabi Kaloo of Hanfia Colony, Arampora Sopore; and Mohammad Ashraf Malik, son of Mohammad Abdullah Malik of Tawheed Bagh Sopore.
Police said the searches were conducted in the presence of an Executive Magistrate after obtaining valid warrants from the Special UAPA Court, Sopore.
Officials said relevant material and electronic devices were examined, and further legal procedures are underway as part of the ongoing investigation.
Police reiterated their resolve to act against individuals associated with banned organisations and dismantle networks attempting to disrupt peace in the district. — (KIMS)
