SHOPIAN — In its efforts to get closer to the public, a Police Public meeting was held on Tuesday by Shopian Police at DSP Office Imamsahib.
Large number of citizens participated in the meeting and highlighted various issues belonging to their areas.
The meeting was chaired by SSP Shri Ifroz Ahmed (JKPS) accompanied by DSP Imamsahib Shri Mohd Ashrif (JKPS) and SHO imamsahib shri Gulzar Ahmed. The meeting was attended by respectable citizens of the Imamsahib area including Namberdars and trade men of the area.
The main aim of the meeting was to get closer to the public by listening to their day to day problems and redressal thereof.
During the interaction meeting participants highlighted various issues including the problem of drug abuse, dumping of waste material on roads, DAM situated near Kadgam Imamsahib, Road condition from Chitragam to Shopian and other problems faced by the public which were heard by SSP Shopian and promised their redressal time bound manner.
SSP Shopian assured the participants that their genuine issues pertaining to police will be resolved on priority basis and the issues pertaining to civil administration will be taken up with the concerned departments for their early redressal.He also thanked the people for participating in the meeting and providing valuable suggestions.
The participants appreciated the Shopian Police for Pro Public nature. They also hailed the police for conducting public contact programms and assured their full support and cooperation in curbing the menace of social crimes and maintaining law and order.
The meeting ended in a good atmosphere with note of thanks.
