Police recovers 9.75 kgs of contraband charas powder in Pulwama

PULWAMA (KIMS) — Jammu and Kashmir Police on Sunday recovered substantial quantity of contraband substances in Newa area of Pulwama district in South Kashmir.

“Acting on specific information received through reliable sources, Police Post Newa conducted a successful operation at the residence of Mehraj Din Sheikh, son of Ali Mohammad Sheikh, a resident of Sheikh Mohalla, Newa, Pulwama. Upon searching a store situated within the premises of his residential property, two nylon sacks containing 4.950 kgs and 4.800 kgs of charas powder-like substance, totaling 9.75 kgs, were recovered,” police said in a statement.

Consequently, a case under FIR No. 22/25 under section 8/20 of the NDPS Act was registered at Police Station Pulwama, and further investigation into the matter has been initiated. — (KIMS)
