BUDGAM (KIMS) — Jammu and Kashmir Police has registered a case against the organizers and participants of a Youm-e-Quds procession in Sonpah village, Beerwah, in Budgam district for creating law and order situation by raising objectionable slogans.
In a statement, police said, “During the procession, a large crowd gathered under the directions of organizer and gave objectionable slogans.”
“By sloganeering, organisers tried to create law and order situation and blocked Sonpah – Beerwah road, thereby causing obstruction to smooth movement of general public,” the statement said.
“Taking cognizance of the incident, Budgam Police have registered a case under Sections 126(2) and 189(6) of (BNS), 2023, vide FIR No. 33/2025 at Police Station Beerwah,” the statement added.
Further investigation into the matter is underway, and necessary action as per law will be taken against those involved.
“Budgam police have urged the citizens to maintain peace and refrain from any activities that could disturb public order,” the statement ends. — (KIMS)
