ANANTNAG — Police have seized 75 kg of crushed bhang during searches at the residential premises of two persons in Sonch Brah area of Anantnag district, officials said on Wednesday.
Acting on specific information regarding concealment of narcotic substances, police conducted searches at the houses of Mudasir Ahmad Khan and Abdul Qayoom Khan after obtaining requisite search orders from the competent authority.
Police said 31.2 kg of crushed bhang was recovered from Mudasir Ahmad Khan’s residence, while another 43.8 kg was recovered from Abdul Qayoom Khan’s house.
Both persons were arrested and the recovered contraband seized in accordance with the law, police said.
FIR Nos. 108/2026 and 109/2026 under relevant provisions of the NDPS Act have been registered at Police Station Mattan.
Further investigation is underway to ascertain the source of the contraband and identify other linkages involved in the case. — (KIMS)
