Police seized heroin-like substance worth crores in Srinagar, two accused arrested

SRINAGAR (KIMS) — Jammu and Kashmir Police on Wednesday seized heroin-like substance worth crores in Batamaloo area of Srinagar and arrested two individuals in connection with this case.

“During nakaa checking at Tengpora flood channel in Batamaloo, police team of Srinagar Police detained two individuals identified as Love Kumar from Shahdara Kastura Nagar, Delhi and Vipin Kumar from Sultanpuri, Delhi. Upon their search, 2.4 kg of heroin-like substance was recovered from their possession,” police said in a statement.

“Consequently, FIR No. 140/2024 under relevant sections of NDPS Act was registered in Police Station Batamaloo and investigation initiated. During the course of investigation, the accused persons disclosed information that led to further recovery of 2.86 kg of Crystal Meth (Amphetamine) from their vehicle (Ertiga) bearing Registration No. HR11N 7336,” the statement added.

Further investigation into the case is going on to trace the origin and operation of the network of the illegal narcotics trade. — (KIMS)
