JAMMU — A private school principal was detained in the Samba district on Wednesday for inflicting corporal punishment on a student in Class 4th.
Following a written complaint filed by the minor’s family members, a FIR has also been filed against the principal, PTI reported.
The report said, the matter came to light after a video of the incident went viral on social media platforms.
Police said, they conducted raids at suspected locations and detained the accused Principal identified as Kuldeep Jallu alias Bablu.
An FIR under relevant sections of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) and Juvenile Justice Act has been registered at Vijaypur Police Station and further investigation of the case is underway, they said.
