‘Propagating false information’: Police took cognizance against six persons in Kashmir

SRINAGAR (KIMS) — Jammu and Kashmir Police on Friday said that Srinagar Police along with Cyber Police Kashmir have taken cognizance against six individuals for ‘propagation false information’ on social media.

Jammu and Kashmir Police in Srinagar district in a post on X (formerly Twitter) said, “Cognizance have been taken against six individuals for propagation of false information, instigative content inciting disaffection and anti-social propaganda on social media platforms.”

“Legal action under relevant sections of law has been taken against them,” the post said.

The police has requested common public to desist from posting, propagating instigative/provocative content, misinformation, anti-social propaganda and rumour mongering on social media.

“Common public is appealed to desist from posting/sharing/propagating instigative/provocative content, misinformation, anti-social propaganda & rumour mongering,” the post said. — (KIMS)
