SRINAGAR (KIMS) — In yet another significant effort to curb the drug menace and dismantle illegal narcotic networks, Jammu and Kashmir Police has attached the property of a notorious drug peddler valuing at worth lakhs of rupees under the provisions of NDPS Act in Noorbagh area of Srinagar district in Central Kashmir on Thursday.
This stern legal action stems from case FIR No. 134/2024, registered against the drug peddler namely Mohd Irfan Sheikh, son of Mohd Ashraf Sheikh, resident of Pamposh Colony Palpora, under the jurisdiction of Police Post Noorbagh.
“During investigation, it came to fore that a huge quantity of narcotic drugs had been seized and the accused person had acquired substantial property including a house and land through the proceeds of illegal drug trade,” police said in a statement.
“Adhering to relevant legal procedures, the property valued in lakhs (house and land) has been attached under the NDPS Act,” the statement said. — (KIMS)
