Pulwama anti-militancy operation leaves three militants dead

Internet suspended, curfew imposed in the district 

PULWAMA (KIMS) — Three militants were slain in an anti-militancy operation in New Colony area of South Kashmir’s Pulwama district on Wednesday.

Sources told Kashmir Independent Media Service that an anti-militancy operation was jointly launched by Indian Army’s 55 RR, 180 BN CRPF and J&K Police during the intervening night of Tuesday-Wednesday following the inputs about presence of militants in the area.

Three militants were slain in the anti-militancy operation and they have been identified as Aijaz @ Abu Huraira from Pakistan, Javeed Ahmad Rather from Tahab Pulwama and Shahnawaz Nazir Ganie from Samboora Pulwama.

One residential house was also damaged in the anti-militancy operation.

2 AK Rifles and 1 Pistol was recovered from the site of anti-militancy operation.

Meanwhile, authorities have snapped down mobile internet services in the district as a precautionary measure. Further the authorities in district Pulwama have imposed curfew in the district to clamp down movement of people. — (KIMS)
