Punjab Govt provides Rs 1 Crore assistance to families of soldiers killed in Poonch attack

CHANDIGARH — The Government of Punjab on Wednesday provided Rs. 1 Crore financial assistance to the families of soldiers who were killed in Poonch district of Jammu and Kashmir.

Chief Minister of Punjab Bhagwant Mann handed over the cheques worth ₹1 crore as financial assistance to the family members of four soldiers who were killed in a militant attack in Bimber Gali area of Poonch district on April 20.

Mann said that the country is indebted to these soldiers who had sacrificed their lives for the nation at Jammu and Kashmir.

On April 20, five soldiers were killed after an Army vehicle was attacked by unknown militants in Bimber Gali area of Poonch, among them four belonged to Punjab and one Orrisa.
