Rain, snow at isolated, fairly widespread places of J&K till Nov 30: MeT

SRINAGAR (KIMS) — The Meteorological Department (MeT) on Monday forecast rain and snowfall at isolated and fairly widespread places of Jammu and Kashmir Union Territory till November 30th.

An official of the Meteorological Department (MeT) said, “Currently, the weather is generally cloudy at most places of Jammu and Kashmir.” “The weather will remain generally cloudy with light rain and snowfall at isolated places of Jammu and Kashmir till November 28th,” he said.

He said, “The weather is expected to remain generally cloudy with light rain and snowfall at fairly widespread places with possibility of thunderstorm and lightning at few places of Jammu and Kashmir from November 29th to 30th.”

He said, “The weather is expected to remain partly to generally cloudy in Jammu and Kashmir from December 1st to 6th.”

He said, “Slight improvement in minimum temperature is observed over many stations of Kashmir division due to cloudiness. Shallow to moderate fog is likely to continue till November 28th over many places of the region.”

Meanwhile, the summer capital of Jammu and Kashmir, Srinagar recorded 3.5°C, Qazigund 2.6°C, Anantnag 2.4°C, Kupwara 1.8°C, Kokernag 2.8°C, Pahalgam 1.5°C and Gulmarg minus 1.2°C as the minimum temperature in Kashmir region on Monday.

The winter capital Jammu recorded 13.5°C, Katra 12.6°C, Batote 8.2°C, Bhaderwah 6.7°C, Banihal 5.8°C, Udhampur 10.2°C and Patnitop 8.0°C as the minimum temperature in Jammu region.

In Ladakh region, Leh recorded minus 2.6°C and Kargil minus 0.1°C as the minimum temperature. — (KIMS)
