Rain, snow in Jammu and Kashmir for next 24 hours: MeT

SRINAGAR — The Meteorological Department on Thursday forecast rain and snow in Jammu and Kashmir for the next 24 hours.

The weather remained dry in the Union Territory during the last 24 hours.

An official of the Meteorological Department said, light to moderate rain/snow is likely in Valley and rain in Jammu division during the next 24 hours.

He said, Srinagar recorded 0.8 degrees Celsius while Pahalgam and Gulmarg recorded minus 2.4 degrees Celsius and minus 4.2 degrees Celsius as the minimum temperature.

In Jammu region he said, Jammu recorded 9.9 degrees Celsius, Katra 9.1 degrees Celsius, Batote 5.7 degrees Celsius, Banihal 2.6 degrees Celsius and Bhaderwah 3.7 degrees Celsius as the minimum temperature

In Ladakh region he said, Kargil recorded minus 15.0 degrees Celsius and Leh recorded minus 10.0 degrees Celsius as the minimum temperature.

Kashmir is currently under 20-day-long period of ‘Chilai Khurd’. It will be followed by 10-day-long ‘Chillai Bache’. — (KIMS)
