Rain, snow in Jammu and Kashmir from March 21: MeT

SRINAGAR (KIMS) — The Meteorological Department (MeT) on Monday forecast light rain and snowfall at many places in the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir from March 21-22.

An official of the Meteorological Department (MeT) said, “The weather is expected to remain generally dry in Jammu and Kashmir from March 18-20.” “Similar weather conditions will prevail in the Union Territory on March 23,” he said.

He said, “The weather is expected to remain generally cloudy with possibility of light rain and snowfall at many places with thunder, lightning and gusty winds over plains of Kashmir and Jammu Division divisions from March 21-22.”

He further said, “Partly to generally cloudy weather is expected with light rain and snowfall at few places of Jammu and Kashmir from March 24-25.”

Meanwhile, the Summer capital of Jammu and Kashmir, Srinagar recorded 3.5°C, Qazigund 2.8°C, Kupwara 1.3°C, Kokernag 3.2°C, Gulmarg minus 0.5°C and Pahalgam minus 1.3°C as the Minimum temperature in Kashmir region.

The Winter capital, Jammu recorded 13.2°C, Katra 12.6°C, Batote 9.2°C, Bhaderwah 3.8°C and Banihal 7.8°C as the Minimum temperature in Jammu region.

In Ladakh region, Leh recorded minus 7.4°C and Kargil minus 6.2°C as the Minimum temperature. — (KIMS)
