Rains lash plains, higher reaches including Gulmarg receive fresh snowfall

SRINAGAR (KIMS) — The Meteorological Department (MeT) on Thursday forecast light to moderate rain and snowfall in the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir today.

Rains lashed plains while higher reaches of the Union Territory including Gulmarg, Pir Ki Gali, Zojila Pass, Doodhpathri etc received light snowfall since last evening.

The Meteorological Department (MeT) had forecasted light to moderate rain with thunderstorm and lightning at many places and light snowfall over middle and higher reaches of Jammu and Kashmir today (November 30th, 2023).

The Meteorological Department (MeT) also forecast partly to generally cloudy weather in Jammu and Kashmir from December 1st to 10th.

Meanwhile, the summer capital of Jammu and Kashmir, Srinagar recorded 5.3°C, Qazigund 5.0°C, Anantnag 4.0°C, Kupwara 4.2°C, Kokernag 3.5°C and Pahalgam 1.5°C while Gulmarg recorded minus 1.0°C as the minimum temperature in Kashmir region on Thursday.

The winter capital Jammu recorded 13.5°C, Katra 11.4°C, Batote and Banihal each 7.2°C, Bhaderwah 5.5°C and Udhampur 11.8°C as the minimum temperature in Jammu region.

In Ladakh region, Leh recorded minus 5.8°C and Kargil minus 3.0 as the minimum temperature. — (KIMS)
