Scattered light rain, snow expected in J&K during next 24 hours: MeT

SRINAGAR — The Meteorological Department (MeT) office on Monday forecast scattered light rain, snow in Jammu and Kashmir during the next 24 hours.

The weather was inclement with rain and snow in the Union Territory during the last 24 hours.

“Mainly cloudy weather with chances of scattered light rain/snow is expected in J&K during the next 24 hours,” IANS quoted an official of the MeT department as having said.

He said Srinagar recorded 0.9 degrees Celsius, Pahalgam minus 0.7 degrees Celsius and Gulmarg minus 2.5 degrees Celsius as the minimum temperature.

In Jammu region he said, Jammu recorded 5.2 degrees Celsius, Katra 10.5 degrees Celsius, Batote 7.0 degrees Celsius, Banihal and Bhaderwah 5.2 degrees Celsius as the minimum temperature.

In Ladakh region he said, Kargil recorded minus 7.5 degrees Celsius and Leh recorded minus 6.6 degrees Celsius as the minimum temperature.
