Scholars Scientific Institute celebrated fruit day to spread health awareness among students

ANANTNAG (Sheikh Nadeem) — The Scholars Scientific Institute Moominabad Anantnag on Wednesday celebrated fruit day to spread health awareness among students.

The Pre-Primary and Primary wing of Scholars Scientific Institute Mominabad Anantnag celebrated ‘Fruits Day’ to bring awareness of the importance and consumption of fruits in a regular diet.

The occasion was to teach children about the health benifits of fruit-nature’s most fantastic food.

The little ones carrying a fruits as activity was a pleasant sight to watch. The children were also sensitized towards the importance of washing fruits before eating/cooking.

The teachers demonstrated the process of washing the fruits, peeling, cutting, and mixing all the different fruits and the yummy fruit salad was ready to relish.

The children also colored the pictures of fruits as a part of the activity and sung songs.

The main objective of the event was to create awareness among children about the importance of consumption of fruits in regular diets.

Speaking on the occasion Principal of SSI Masrat Jan said that the reason of the function is to spread awareness about the junk foods. “The children should eat fruits instead of junk food because the fruits are good for health and keep away from diseases,” she said.

The students of Primary and Pre Primary came on stage wearing costumes of different fruits like apples, mangoes, bananas, strawberries, oranges and pineapples and thoroughly enjoyed themselves. Some of the children also came dressed as capsicum, chilly, carrot and lady finger among others.

Meanwhile, the Students also performed on the stage to aware regarding the benfits of fruits through various songs. — (KIMS)
