SRINAGAR (KIMS) — Authorities on Saturday ordered the closure of all Government and Private schools in Ramban, Kishtwar and Doda districts of Jammu and Kashmir due to prevailing heavy rainfall and adverse weather conditions.
According to separate orders issued by the Chief Education Officers (CEOs) of the three districts, the decision was taken in compliance with the directions of the respective District Administrations to ensure the safety of students and staff.
In Ramban, all Government and Private schools will remain closed on August 1 due to heavy rainfall and adverse weather conditions. Heads of institutions have been directed to conduct online classes through appropriate digital platforms to ensure that academic activities remain uninterrupted.
In Kishtwar, the closure was ordered in view of heavy rainfall, adverse weather, slippery road conditions and the possibility of shooting stones, which pose a risk to the safety and well-being of students and staff. All educational institutions have been instructed to continue academic activities through online classes.
Similarly, all Government and Private schools in Doda will remain closed on Saturday due to adverse weather conditions, as per the directions of the District Administration. Authorities said online classes will continue as per the scheduled timetable.
The district administrations have advised educational institutions to strictly adhere to the directions and ensure continuity of academic activities through virtual mode. — (KIMS)
