SRINAGAR (KIMS) — The Jammu and Kashmir Pradesh Congress Committee (JKPCC) today witnessed a significant milestone as Senior Leader and Vice President Surinder Singh Channi inaugurated a new Congress Party office in Awantipora.
The inaugural ceremony, held on Sunday, drew an enthusiastic gathering, with Senior Party Leader Javid Ahmad Magray, District President Pulwama Umer Jan, Youth Congress Leader Shoib Magray, and hundreds of party workers, activists, and local residents in attendance.
This is the first office of any political party established in the Awantipora zone, a move that has been widely praised by the community.
Surinder Singh Channi, affectionately referring to the new office as “Mohobatt Ki Dukaan” (Shop of Love), highlighted that this location aims to strengthen ties with the local population by addressing their grievances and facilitating direct engagement with the party.
This marks the second such office opened by Channi in the Tral Assembly Constituency, with a similar office launched in Tral just last month.
Channi expressed that opening the office in Awantipora was not only timely but strategically important, as the central location would enable the Congress to better serve adjacent areas and increase the party’s outreach.
“Our objective here is to support local residents, address their needs, and broaden the party’s base, so that more individuals in this region can connect with our mission and values,” he stated.
Following the inauguration, Surinder Singh Channi visited the Tral Congress office, where he engaged with several local delegations, attentively listening to their concerns.
His visit also saw a significant number of young people and senior residents join the Congress Party, further strengthening its presence under Channi’s leadership. — (KIMS)
