Shimla accident: LG Sinha expresses grief, offers condolences

SRINAGAR (KIMS) — The Lieutenant Governor of the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir Mr. Manoj Sinha has expressed grief over the loss of lives of six residents of Kulgam district in an accident in Shimla district of Himachal Pradesh.

He also offered condolences to the families of the bereaved and prayed for the speedy recovery of the injured.

The Office of LG J&K in a post on X (formerly Twitter) said, “Anguished by the tragic road accident in Shimla, in which six Kulgam residents have lost their lives. Condolences to the bereaved families. May the injured recover soon.”

The Lieutenant Governor also directed district administration Kulgam to provide all necessary assistance to the families of the deceased.

“Directed DC Kulgam to provide all necessary assistance to the next of kin of each deceased,” the post said.

At least six labourers from Kulgam district of South Kashmir died and as many sustained injuries after a pick-up truck in which they were traveling in fell into gorge at Kararghat area of Shimla district in Himachal Pradesh on Monday morning. — (KIMS)
