Situation worse in J&K, tourism not reflection of normalcy: Farooq Abdullah

SRINAGAR — Stating that situation is worse in Jammu and Kashmir, National Conference Patron and President of five party alliance Dr Farooq Abdullah said that tourism is not reflection of normalcy.

Talking to reporters, Abdullah said that the everyday policeman or any civilian is being killed which reflects situation is not good in Jammu and Kashmir.

Farooq said that the Kashmiri Pandits were asking for security to safer places and in response they got tear shells.

“I have never seen a Kashmiri Pandit throwing stones as stated in the government statement that they were throwing stones.Their demand of giving them safety was correct but what was point of shelling them in return?, Farooq asked.

He further said that he met LG Sinha to raise issue of law and order problem in Jammu and Kashmir.

“I told LG Sinha that as far as PAGD and my party is concerned, we will support you in all these things to keep the peace and atmosphere here”, he added. — (KNS)
