SRINAGAR — 2-day-old militant was among six local militants slain in four different military operations in South Kashmir in last 48-hours.
According to reports, 2-day-old ISJK militant identified as Faheem Ahmad Bhat, son of Gul Mohammad Bhat from Kandipora Bijbehara was slain in Bijbehara military operation at Khush Roi Kalan area of Bijbehara in Anantnag district on Saturday late night.
On Saturday evening, two AuGH militants were slain a military operation at Hurdumir area in Tral and they were identified as Nadeem Bhat and Rasool @ Adil, an IED expert.
Two more militants affiliated with LeT (Lashkar-i-Toiba) identified as Sajad Ahmad Chak, son of Bashir Ahmad Chak from Braripora Shopian and Raja Basit Yaqoob, son of Mohd Yaqoob Najar from Achan Pulwama were slain in another military operation at Chowgam village in Shopian on Saturday morning.
On Friday, a militant affiliated with Hizb-ul-Muhahideen identified as Shahzad Ahmad Seh son of Bashir Ahmad Seh resident of Sehpora Kulgam was slain in Mominhall Arwani military operation.
Earlier, a Cordon-and-Search-Operation (CASO) was launched by joint team of government forces including J&K Police, Indian Army and CRPF at Khush Roi Kalan area of Bijbehara following the inputs about presence of militants in the area. Same kind of operations were launched in Hurdumir Tral, Chowgam Shopian and Moominhall Arwani.
Incriminating materials, arms and ammunition including 02 AK series rifles, 4 AK Magazines and 32 rounds were recovered from encounter site at Chowgan Shopian while as 02 AK rifles were recovered from Hurdumir encounter site. 01 AK 47 Rifle, 02 AK Magazines, 40 AK rounds and a Grenade were recovered from Arwani encounter site, police said.
